Range Description

This species occurs in the Serra do Mar, Serra do Tabuleiro, and Serra Geral of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, at approximately 300-1,100m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

It occurs in leaf-litter in humid rainforest. It reproduces in bromeliads by larval development.


It is uncommon but widely distributed; it continues to be collected regularly.

Habitat loss due to deforestation is a threat to this species.
