Species Description: McCranie JR 2018 A discussion of the phenetic-based Craugastor laticeps species group (Anura: Brachycephaloidea: Craugastoridae) from north-central Honduras, with the description of two new species. Herpetologica 74:169-180.
Taxonomic Notes: Craugastor gutschei was described by McCranie (2018) as part of the C. laticeps species group. McCranie indicates that the C. laticeps species group is part of the subgenus Craugastor but did not formally designate the new species to the subgenus. Nevertheless, the text of the paper directly implicates that C. gutschei should be treated as part of the subgenus.
