Description
A rather small Chiromantis from the dry savanna in eastern Africa, with reduced webbing. Often with irregular longitudinal lines on the back. No distinct lateral markings. Area covered by folded legs and arms not darkened. Vomerine teeth placed between choanae, at most extending marginally behind the posterior level of the choanae. Broad web extends not more than 30% of distance between tubercles of the third finger.

Southern Kenya and Tanzania. Apparently confined to the dry savanna. The distribution may actually be more narrow from Kenya southwards than is shown on the map, but records are lacking.

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
The voice is a quiet slow creaking. Development occurs as in the other members of the genus. The foam nest may be attached to grass or rocks overhanging small temporary pools. Tadpoles have a tooth formula developing from 1,1+1/1+1,1 till 1,3+3/1+1,2.
