It is known from the Milne Bay region, southern Papuan Peninsula, and from Normanby Island, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea, from sea level to 555 m a.s.l. (Kraus 2019).

These frogs live in burrows in the forest or under large boulders in lowland and foothill rainforests. Active nocturnally and may call from burrows or on the forest floor among tree buttresses. (Kraus 2019).

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Presumably an anti-predator defense, they can produce white, sticky secretions from dorsal glands (Kraus 2019).
