Found in Cape York Peninsula, northern Queensland. From Cooktown in the east to the Archer River in the west. The extent of occurrence of the species is approximately 31200 km2

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
A variety of moist habitats: rainforest, gallery forest (forest along creeks), grassy woodland, monsoon forests and swamps. May also be found in moist pockets within a dry forest. Associated with both perennial and non-perennial streams. Males call from vegetation up to 0.5m above ground. Breeding and larvae unknown.

Trends and Threats
No known declines and extent of occurrence > 20,000km2.

Threats
Logging in rainforest habitat was a threat in the past, now tourism and associated habitat degradation is more a threat in northern Queensland.

Conservation Measures
Rainforest habitat is protected within World Heritage Area.
