From the IUCN Red List Species Account:

Range Description

This species is known only from Kosñipata between 1,300–2,100 m asl on the northeastern slopes of the Cadena de Paucartambo, a frontal range of the Andean Cordillera Oriental, in Cusco Region, Peru. The true range of this species is not known and it might occur more widely, but the extent of occurrence (EOO) of the current known range is 65 km2.

Habitat and Ecology

It was collected on a bush at night in montane tropical cloud forest, but it is often perched around 2–3 m above the ground. Reproduction in this species is presumably by direct development.

Population

The species is not abundant and continues to be an uncommon species, but the population seems to be stable (Peru Red List Assessment Workshop April 2017).

Population Trend

stable

Major Threats

There is no information about threats to this species. In 2013, this species was collected from Kosñipata Valley near Manu National Park; among three individuals sampled, one was infected by Bd and another by Ranavirus (Warne et al. 2016), however direct developing frogs such as this species are not likely to be affected by chytrid (A. Catenazzi pers. comm. April 2017).

Conservation Actions

Conservation Actions
The species occurs in the buffer zone of Manu National Park.

Research Needed
Further surveys could help to improve the understanding of the species' population size, distribution and trends.

Red List Status

Least Concern (LC)

Rationale

Listed at Least Concern as no threats are present, its population is stable, and it occurs within the buffer zone—and possibly within the boundaries of—Manu National Park.
