This species is known only from mountains in the Aresi area near Kunua, on Bougainville Island, Papua New Guinea, at 700-1,000m asl. It might possibly occur more widely in the Solomon Islands.
Habitat and Ecology
It is found on steep mountain slopes in dense forest and along streams, but not on ridge tops. It breeds by direct development, laying its eggs on the ground.
It is an uncommon species.
There are probably no threats to this species at present.
The distribution, habitat requirements and population status of this species need to be more fully documented. It is not known from any protected areas.
