Range Description

This species is known only from China where it has been recorded from Jianyang, Chongan and Dehua of Fujian Province, Longquan and Jiande of Zhejiang Province and Huangshan of Anhui Province. It is found at elevations of 600-1,525m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

This species is found in mountain forest streams. The species breeds in the streams and has a larval development breeding strategy.


It is quite common in suitable habitat.

Major Threats

It is threatened by clear-cutting of forest habitat.

This species occurs in several protected areas.

Least Concern (LC)


Listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, presumed large population, and because it is unlikely to be declining fast enough to qualify for listing in a more threatened category.
