Range Description

This species is known only from the type locality of the Marudi Mountains in Rupununi, Guyana, at 250 m asl. It may occur more widely.

Habitat and Ecology

The habitat at the type locality is primary forest, and this is presumably a subterranean species.

Population

There is no information on the population status of this species. There have been no recent records, presumably due to lack of fieldwork within its range.

Illegal gold mining has destroyed the habitat at the type locality of this species (P. Kok pers. comm. November 2017), although it is not known whether this species is persisting there.
