Range Description

This species is only known from Paiyangshan, Ningming County, in Guangxi Province, China, at around 470m asl.

Habitat and Ecology

It inhabits low-gradient streams and surrounding habitats. It probably breeds in streams.


It is known from only a handful of localities.

Major Threats

The major threat to this species is habitat loss and degradation due to agriculture.

Conservation Actions

The range of this species does not include any protected areas, and habitat protection for this species is urgently needed.

Listed as Endangered, in view of its extent of occurrence of less than 5,000 km2 and area of occupancy of less than 500 km2, with all individuals in fewer than ten locations, and a continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat.
