This species is restricted to Ailaoshan and Wuliangshan in central Yunnan Province, China, from 800-2,600m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
It inhabits evergreen broadleaf forests and breeds in slow-flowing streams.
It is rare and difficult to find.
Its habitat is well protected, and it is not facing any known threats.
The entire known range of this species is within Ailaoshan and Wuliangshan National Nature Reserves.

Near Threatened (NT)
Listed as Near Threatened because, although its Extent of Occurrence is less than 20,000 km2, it occurs in a habitat that is not under significant threat, and so it is probably not in decline.
