Diagnostic Description

Sanguirana sanguinea can be distinguished from other members of the Sanguirana everetti complex by a combination of the following characters: (1) absence of dorsal asperities (2) absence of infrcloacal tubercles (3) tympanum not translucent (4) tibial bars present (5) absence of dark dorsal spots (6) presence of dark canthal stripe (7) snout pointed (8) ventral surface smooth (9) dorsolateral ridges present (Fuiten et al., 2011).
