Description
Size range of males: 19-23 mm; female: 22-30 mm. Snout sharply pointed. Dorsum chestnut brown to pale brown, belly with dark brown pigments. This species has bright colour variation: beige, mushroom, cucumber, lychee, spice and jasmine yellow (Karunaratne 2001). I found different colour variations in Sinharaja Forest.

Terra typica: Ceylon [Sri Lanka] Endemic to Sri Lanka. Found in the wet zone up to 1375 m asl in leaf litter of shaded forests.

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
This is a leaf litter dwelling frog by having a brilliant camouflage and is active during day time.

Relation to Humans
Found in home gardens near Kandy.

General habitat alteration and loss
Habitat fragmentation
Local pesticides, fertilizers, and pollutants
Long-distance pesticides, toxins, and pollutants

Comments
Similar to Pseudophilautus temporalis, but easily distinguished by the presence of a small calcar on its heel (absent in Pseudophilautus temporalis ). Kirtisinghei confused Pseudophilautus nasutus with Polypedates longinasus.
