Pristimantis phalaroinguinis is only known from type type locality: Río Zaña, ca. 06 51’ S, 79 06’ W, 1800 masl, Department of Cajamarca, Peru (Duellman and Lehr, 2007).
Habitat and Ecology
The species possibly occurs in isolated patches of cloud forest (W.E. Duellman, pers. comm.).
The species is only known from the type series, comprised of six specimens.
No major threats are currently known for this species.
No conservation measures are known for this species.
Included in the genus Pristimantis by Frost (2007). Recently placed in the family Strabomantidae by Hedges et al. (2008). Pristimantis phalaroinguinis can be distinguished from other similar species by a combination of morphological features and colour patterns (Duellman and Lehr, 2007).
