Range Description

This species is only known from the type locality: Área de Proteção Ambiental Guaratuba, Serra da Pedra Branca do Araraquara, Municipality of Guaratuba, state of Paraná, Brazil (Cruz et al. 2008).

Habitat and Ecology

This species occurs in the Atlantic Rain Forest of Brazil. There is no information available on the microhabitat and ecology of this species, although it presumably breeds in still water and goes through a larval stage.

Major Threats

Habitat destruction in the form of urban development (commercial and residential) and land use change (for e.g. agriculture) is a general threat to Atlantic Forest.

In the Physalaemus olfersii species group according to the original description (Cruz et al. 2008).
