From Townsville in mid-eastern Queensland and into central Queensland and south into north- eastern New South Wales. The extent of occurrence of the species is approximately 853500 km2.

Life History, Abundance, Activity, and Special Behaviors
Open grassland and lightly forested areas. Active during and after rain. Spends drier times burried near temporary pools. Males emerge after heavy rain to call from the margins of ponds. Eggs are laid in the pools and tadpoles are free-swimming and quick to develop.

Trends and Threats
No known declines and large extent of occurrence.
