This species is known from Boraceia, Paranapiacaba, Riacho Grande and Teresópolis in the Serra do Mar, in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo States, Brazil. It has been recorded from 800-1,200m asl.
Habitat and Ecology
This species is usually found in the forest floor leaf-litter or occasionally on low vegetation, in primary and good quality secondary forest. It breeds by direct development. It has not been recorded outside forest.
It is not a common species, but it is relatively easy to find if looking for it.
Habitat loss due to infrastructure development for human settlement is threatening a few local populations, but overall the species appears unthreatened at present.
The range of the species includes several protected areas. More research into the species' Extent of Occurrence and population status is needed.
