This species occurs in Amazonas, Colombia; eastern Peru; the states of Pará, Amazonas, and Rondonia, Brazil; and the Departamento Pando, Amazonian Bolivia.
Habitat and Ecology
It lives on the old growth humid forest floor and uses the water retained inside the "ouriço" of Brazil nuts to breed. It also uses small temporary pools.
It is locally abundant in Brazil, and locally common in Bolivia and Colombia.
There are no known threats to this species.
It occurs in protected areas.
This species is probably a complex of more than one species.
